Every day's a school day!
In 2006, Jane began five years of study and clinical supervision at the London School of Osteopathy. She achieved a Master of Osteopathy degree with merit in 2011 and in 2013 completed a foundation course with the British Medical Acupuncture. Jane was awarded their Certificate of Medical Acupuncture in 2020.
A perpetual student, Jane continues with formal studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Naturopathy.
With a first degree in the natural sciences, Jane considers the inseparability of man from his environment as a starting point for health, for better or for worse. She is an advocate of the body-mind connection and the role of psychosocial factors in health and disease.
Jane owned and managed an independent health store for a number of years, advising on the use of herbal and homeopathic remedies, vitamins, minerals and supplements to support health and minor ailments. She introduced a successful gift range with products to support mindful and meditative practice and moved both businesses online in 2024.
Earth, Air, Fire & Water
Jane is in her element in the elements! Happiest round a campfire while on the road in her van, she enjoys creative writing and wild swimming.
Jane volunteers kayak support at open water swimming competitions, long distance training camps and individual challenges. She takes part as a swimmer too and has six lengths of Windermere under her belt, including the first backstroke length which stood uncontested for seven years. Jane did a 21 mile double crossing of Windermere in 2015 and in 2016 became the 52nd person to claim all 21.6 miles of Loch Lomond. She was caught out a mile off the French coast in 2022 in her attempt to cross the English Channel but has plans for revenge when the time is right!
