Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a hands-on therapy used in the diagnosis and treatment of painful conditions and those affecting mobility and function.  It aims to alleviate pain naturally, without the use of medications.

Osteopaths consider the body as a whole and use a refined sense of touch to evaluate tissue health, asymmetry, motion restrictions and compensatory patterns.  Joint mobilisation, myofascial release and soft tissue bodyworks are used to restore alignment and freedom of movement.  More subtle techniques address fascial, ligamentous and cranio-sacral strain patterns.

By promoting blood flow and drainage, osteopathic techniques encourage self-healing capabilities of the body at the cellular level.

Beyond pain relief, optimising structure creates space for the internal organs.  With pressure off the blood vessels, nerves and lymphatic pathways, the organs receive adequate nutrition and commands and drain freely.  Functioning as they should, they co-operate with the body systems to promote homeostasis and overall wellbeing.

Thus when the body is in alignment, and when it moves with ease, then good health will follow.
